About Watermark Remover
A stamped date, a camera logo or a semi-transparent label across a photo you own is a visible overlay, and it can be taken out without retouching the whole picture. Paint roughly over the mark with the brush. The server looks for the overlay's own pixels inside the painted area, rebuilds them from the surrounding image and leaves everything else untouched. The result keeps the format of the file you uploaded, and a second pass is one click away.
Features
- Brush editor with zoom, undo, redo, clear and adjustable brush size
- Targets the overlay inside the painted area and leaves the rest of the photo alone
- Classical image inpainting, not a generative model
- Keeps the uploaded format: JPG, PNG or WebP
- Remove more from result for marks that need several passes
Limitations
- Only visible pixels change: invisible AI watermarks, C2PA Content Credentials and other provenance signals are not touched.
- Quality depends on what is behind the mark, and detailed backgrounds are harder to rebuild than plain ones.
- Use it only on images you own or are licensed to edit; the tool does not check ownership.
- Images can be up to 60 MB, 16,384 px on a side and 100 megapixels in total, and downloading the result needs a free account.
How it works
- Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP image.
- Paint roughly over the watermark with the brush, using zoom, undo and the brush size slider as needed.
- Select Remove watermark and wait while the server processes the image.
- Compare the result with the original in the preview.
- Download the image, or select Remove more from result to load the output back in for another pass.
Frequently asked questions
- Only the painted area, plus a small margin around it, is searched for the overlay, so any part of the mark outside it stays in the picture. Paint over every part, or run another pass with Remove more from result for what is left.
- No. It edits visible pixels only. To see whether a file carries C2PA data, use the Image Provenance Checker or the C2PA Viewer; this tool does not remove or alter that information.
- Both use the same brush editor and the same family of inpainting. Watermark Remover first tries to find thin lighter or darker overlay strokes inside your painted area and reverse them. Object Remover fills in whatever you paint over.
- The same format as the upload: JPG stays JPG, WebP stays WebP and PNG stays PNG, with watermark-removed added to the file name. Dimensions do not change, and the tool refuses images over its size limits.
