About Image Rotator & Flipper
Scans, phone shots and screenshots regularly land on their side or back to front. This page gives you five buttons: three quarter-turn rotations and a horizontal and a vertical flip. Each click is sent to our servers and applied to your original upload, so you always see one clean pass from the source rather than a pile of repeated saves. The file keeps its own format, and a rotation flag stored by the camera is applied first.
Features
- Rotate by 90, 180 or 270 degrees
- Flip horizontally or vertically
- Edits combine and are always replayed on the original upload
- Output keeps the format of the file you uploaded
- Applies a camera rotation flag before your edits
Limitations
- Only quarter turns and flips are available; there is no free-angle rotation to straighten a tilted horizon.
- JPG and WebP results are re-encoded at a fixed quality of 95 and EXIF tags are not copied, so the file is not a byte-for-byte copy of the original.
- Every click sends the original file to the server again, up to 50 edits per upload, and uploads are limited to 60 MB.
- Downloading needs a free account; without one you see a reduced-size preview.
How it works
- Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP file onto the upload area, or browse for it.
- Click 90, 180 or 270 to turn the picture, or Flip H or Flip V to mirror it. The result updates after each click, so there is no separate apply step.
- Keep clicking to combine edits; the whole list is replayed on your original every time.
- Check the new width and height in the result panel, which swap after a quarter turn.
- Press Download to save the file, or Reset to start over with the original.
Frequently asked questions
- Click the 90 button to turn it clockwise, or 270 to turn it the other way, then look at the preview. Landscape and portrait swap, which you can confirm from the width and height in the result panel.
- No. The server accepts only 90, 180 and 270, and rejects any other value with a message saying so. For small tilts you would need an editor with a straighten tool.
- PNG stays lossless. JPG and WebP are re-encoded once per run at quality 95. Because every click is replayed on your original rather than on the previous result, ten clicks do not mean ten generations of loss.
- A 180 degree turn keeps the picture the same way round, just upside down. Flip H mirrors it left to right and Flip V mirrors it top to bottom, so text that read correctly will read backwards.
- Each click starts the job straight away and adds to the list of edits. The buttons are disabled while a job runs, and the preview that follows includes everything you have clicked so far.
