About Open Graph Generator

When a link is pasted into a chat or a social feed, the platform reads a handful of og: tags to decide which title, image and summary to show. Fill in the title, description, page URL, image URL and site name, pick a type, and the tool prints the matching meta property lines. A small card beside the form shows how the text and image sit together, though each platform draws its own version.

Features

  • Writes og:title, og:description, og:url, og:image, og:site_name and og:type
  • Type menu with website, article, product and profile
  • Card preview with image, title, description and, for a valid URL, site name or host
  • URL and image fields checked for public http or https addresses
  • Image field labeled with the 1200×630 recommended size

Limitations

  • Only those six properties are produced; image dimensions, alt text, locale and article-specific details such as published time are not available.
  • The preview is an approximation, because every platform draws its cards in its own way.
  • The preview loads your image URL directly from its host in your browser, and an invalid or non-public address is skipped.
  • Downloading opengraph.html needs a free account; copying the tags does not.

How it works

  1. Enter a title; the generator stays empty until it has one.
  2. Add the page URL, a description, the site name and the address of the preview image.
  3. Choose the type from the list: website, article, product or profile.
  4. Compare the social card preview, which shows the image, the title, up to two lines of description and, once a valid URL is entered, the site name or host.
  5. Copy the generated og: lines into the head of the page, or download them as opengraph.html.
