About PNG to PDF
Screenshots, diagrams and exported charts are usually PNG, and many carry transparent areas that a photo format would flatten. Add one or more PNG files and each lands on its own page, with the pixel data stored without loss and any alpha channel carried over, so see-through regions show the blank page behind them. Pick A4 or Letter and portrait or landscape, and each image is fitted to its page without cropping.
Features
- PNG pixel data stored in the PDF without loss
- Alpha channel carried over, so transparent areas stay transparent
- Each image fitted to its page at its own proportions
- Page order set by moving rows up or down in the file list
Limitations
- Images larger than 25 MB are rejected, so an oversized PNG has to be resized first.
- Any WebP file added alongside is re-saved as JPEG, which has no transparency.
- A signed-in account is needed to download the finished PDF.
How it works
- Add your PNG files by dropping them on the upload area or browsing. The box takes more files at any point.
- Check the thumbnails, move images with the arrows until the order is right, and use the cross to drop one.
- Pick A4 or Letter, then portrait or landscape.
- Press Generate PDF, then Download PDF.
Frequently asked questions
- Yes for PNG files. The alpha channel is stored with the image, so transparent pixels stay transparent in the PDF and the blank page shows through them. Only WebP files lose transparency, because they are re-saved as JPEG.
- Yes. The same upload box accepts JPG, PNG and WebP, and each file is embedded according to its own type. The PDF still has one page per image, in list order.
- Each image is scaled to fit entirely inside the page while keeping its proportions, then centered. A picture that does not match the A4 or Letter shape therefore leaves blank bands. Switch orientation to reduce them.
- Its pixels are not reduced; they are placed on the page at a scaled size and the file keeps the full pixel data. A big screenshot can therefore make a heavy PDF, so Compress PDF is worth a try afterwards.
