About Sign PDF
Plenty of forms only need a signature to appear at the bottom of the last page. Pick how to make one: a typed name set in an italic serif script, a freehand signature drawn on a pad, or a PNG image of your own. Then choose the page number and one of three bottom positions, and the image is placed there at a fixed width. It is a picture on the page, and the tool itself notes that it is not a cryptographic or legally binding digital signature.
Features
- Three ways to make a signature: typed, drawn or uploaded
- Drawing pad that works with a mouse or a touch screen
- Signature placed on any page you choose, the last one by default
- Three bottom positions: left, center or right
- Signature image keeps its proportions when scaled
Limitations
- This adds a visual signature image only. It is not a cryptographic or legally binding digital signature.
- One signature goes on one page per run, at a fixed width along the bottom edge, and it cannot be dragged elsewhere.
- A signature image for upload should be a PNG of up to 5 MB.
- Files up to 50 MB are accepted, and saving signed.pdf needs a free account.
How it works
- Add the PDF; the page count is shown and the Page box starts on the last page.
- Choose a signature method: Type, Draw or Upload.
- Type your name, draw on the pad (the Clear link starts it over), or upload a PNG image of your signature.
- Set the page number and choose Bottom left, Bottom center or Bottom right.
- Select Add Signature, then download signed.pdf.
Frequently asked questions
- No. The tool places a picture of a signature on a page. It adds no certificate and does not lock the document, so it cannot show who signed or whether the file changed afterwards. The page warns about this before you apply it.
- Yes. The Page box starts at the last page, and you can enter any number from 1 up to the page count. Anything outside that range is rejected with a message. Only one page is signed in each run.
- Use a PNG of up to 5 MB, cropped close around the signature. The image is placed at a fixed width with its proportions kept, so extra white space around it makes the signature look smaller on the page.
- No. A typed or drawn signature is made on a canvas in the page, and the PDF is edited in memory by a PDF library. Nothing is sent for signing; the account step only applies to saving the finished file.
