About AI Summarizer
Most long reports do not need reading in full to decide whether they matter. Add a PDF and choose a short, medium or long summary: one or two sentences, a short paragraph, or several paragraphs or a bullet list. The text is pulled out of the PDF page by page, cut to its first 20,000 characters and sent to our server, where a Claude model from Anthropic is told to reply in the text's own language and use only facts it contains. The result lands in an editable box.
Features
- Three lengths: one or two sentences, a short paragraph, or several paragraphs or a bullet list
- The summary opens in an editable box with a one-click copy button
- The model is asked to answer in the same language as the PDF's text
- Page markers are stripped from the text before the model sees it
Limitations
- Only the first 20,000 characters of the extracted text are summarized, so the end of a long PDF is left out.
- The PDF can be up to 50 MB and needs selectable text. Scanned or image-only pages have nothing to read and end in an error message.
- A summary written by an AI model can miss points or get details wrong, so check it against the source before relying on it.
- This tool may need credits or a paid plan.
How it works
- Drop a PDF onto the upload area, or browse for it.
- Wait while Reading PDF is shown. The file name, size and page count then appear above the options.
- Choose Short, Medium or Long under Summary length.
- Select Summarize and wait for the summary to appear in the editable box.
- Edit the wording if you like, then select Copy summary.
Frequently asked questions
- Up to the first 20,000 characters of text extracted from the document. Anything after that point is left out of what the model receives, so the summary describes the opening part. To cover a later section, extract those pages into their own PDF and summarize that.
- The PDF file itself is read on the page, and only the extracted text goes to our server and on to the model. The text is not saved with the job record, but the finished summary is held until the job expires and is then deleted.
- No. A scan holds pictures instead of text, so the tool stops with a message that no extractable text was found. The tool has no OCR step, so it needs a PDF whose text you can already select.
- The same as the PDF's text. The model is instructed to answer in the language of the passage and to stick to facts that it contains. The form has no separate setting for the output language.
- The tool may need credits or a paid plan, depending on your account. A run that fails is refunded automatically, and the error message says you were not charged when the AI service does not respond.
